Admissions FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I submit an application for my elementary age student to secure a spot at Inspire when they are ready for high school?

A. State law does not allow charter high schools to take applications for students before they are ready to enter high school (in our case, 9th grade).  Please watch our site and apply during the annual open enrollment period. Open enrollment is during December and January for application to the following school year. Families with 8th grade students should apply within the open enrollment period during their 8th grade year to ensure eligibility for the enrollment lottery for the following school year.

Q. Can my student play sports while attending Inspire? Will Inspire ever offer sports?

A. Inspire has an agreement with the Northern Section of the CIF regarding eligibility for high school athletics. Students living in the Chico Unified School District attendance boundaries are eligible to play for either Chico High School or Pleasant Valley High School depending on the location of your residence. Unfortunately, students residing outside the CUSD attendance boundary are not eligible to participate in CUSD athletics. Inspire would nullify the eligibility agreement should the school offer any CIF sport. Considering this, Inspire does not plan to offer high school athletics.
